Every business runs on three systems. Most manage two.
There's the business system — structure, strategy, governance, the things on the org chart. There's the execution system — how the work actually gets done, day to day. Both get managed, measured and improved, and there's an industry serving each of them.
Underneath both sits a third: the human system. It decides how decisions really get made, how people show up under pressure, and whether a team holds together through change. It's almost never defined. And it drives the other two.
When it's unclear, effort doesn't convert and the same friction keeps returning in different clothes. When it's designed and aligned, everything above it gets easier to lead.

The human system is made of seven elements. Each one sits somewhere on a scale — under, balanced, or over — and none of the three is a verdict on a person. Over-confidence isn't a character flaw and doubt isn't a weakness; both are simply where an element is sitting today.
What makes it diagnostic rather than descriptive is the combinations. What you actually experience in a business — the stuckness, the tension, the churn — is almost always two elements interacting, not one element failing.
