using your superpower

Kindness is vital to the GLAS framework and one of the things that we always highlight as being a vital sh*t-sorting tool. It is one of the 5 components that sits within the Connector Element. It runs through each of the 5 Principal Elements; from who you are, through relationships into work and what you do, to the external world and ultimately your purpose.

The Connecting components are like superpowers. Kindness is absolutely a superpower.

As of 22nd June 2021, Dani will have completed 2000 days of kindness - a deliberate action each day since 1st January 2016. As part of this, she decided to launch the ‘deliberate self-kindness’ initiative based on part of the GLAS framework - supported by interviewing hundreds of people to gather information which has since been added to create The GLAS CODES of Momentum.

Each completed year of daily acts of kindness was marked by the creation of a video to capture the essence of the year. These short video summaries were often shown in primary schools.

connection

Being involved with charities to connect and reach out to others has been a fascinating area. Kindness is such a powerful way of connecting with friends and families, and often leads to a greater understanding of people and with it; improved relationships.

opportunities

Dani realised that using her skills was part of her expression of kindness - and above, as you can see with her presentation to Fred Sirieix, it’s opened up all sorts of wonderful opportunities.

Dani has also presented a framed picture of one of her Visual Synopsis pieces to Frank Bruno, and has travelled to Miami in Florida with her kindness work.

health

Being able to consciously and consistently operate around kindness leads to improved mental and physical wellbeing. Kindness can improve: blood pressure, sleep, dealing with stress, anxiety as well as having many other benefits.

In 2019, Dani recalls the day her family home was broken into, with both her and her husband’s cars being stolen. Kindness became her way of dealing with this and recovering from a traumatic experience.

Using kindness helped Dani to manage herself during the COVID pandemic.

2000 DAYs OF KINDNESS and counting

26TH SEPTEMBER 2018 SAW DANI COMPLETE HER 1000TH DAY OF KINDNESS. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A PROJECT THAT SHE BELIEVED WOULD LAST A MONTH, way back IN 2016. Dani continued and achieved 2000 days of kindness in 2021.

To celebrate all things kindness and recognise the importance of conscious kindness, Dani wanted to launch a worldwide ‘Inspire Kindness Movement’ on her 1000th consecutive day of random acts of kindness. What began as an experiment to explore kindness and the impact of kind acts in society - including mental health and wellbeing - Dani’s first act of kindness took place on the 1st January 2016, and she has carried out a Random Act of Kindness every day since. She clocked-up her 1000th day on the 26th September 2018.

To mark the 2000th day of kindness, Dani decided to focus on self-kindness and the issues associated with this especially for leaders, teachers, parents and people who hold responsibilities for others.

After taking a deliberate break from recording her acts of kindness for a while, in January 2023 she picked back up on daily acts. She explained that this was in response to the challenges she was observing in the world and social media.

Dani speaks on the topic of kindness and self-kindness and is regularly asked for interviews.
