Stay On Track | Focus | Deep Work
Hello there! Welcome to my weekly LEAPS.
You’re receiving this email because you subscribed to my weekly Wednesday feature or our mailing list. Every Wednesday, I share 5 things using our LEAPS approach:
Learn: something new or an idea
Energy: an energy (good or bad) word and it’s meaning
Action: something to do
Processing: a question to consider
Shout out: something or someone that I want to celebrate or acknowledge
LEARN
Something Worth Sharing
Stay On Track
Recently I was on a treadmill wearing a sweatshirt. After about 30 seconds it was obvious I was far too hot for it, but instead of slowing down or stopping briefly, I tried to pull the sweatshirt over my head while still moving. The second my balance shifted and my vision disappeared, I came flying off the treadmill.
Luckily I wasn’t badly hurt, but it felt ridiculous afterwards because the mistake was so obvious.
We do this in life all the time.
Instead of dealing with one thing properly before moving onto the next, we try to juggle everything at once. We make changes while still in motion. We split our attention, rush transitions, and underestimate how quickly losing focus can throw us off balance.
Very often it’s not the big thing that knocks us over, it’s trying to do too much at the same time.
One thing at a time sounds simple, but focus protects balance, clarity and progress. Trying to do two things at once was no quicker than doing one thing properly.
ENERGY
Focusing on an emotion or energy; a stand-out word / s
Focus
From the Latin focus, meaning “hearth” or “fireplace”, the central point of heat, attention and energy within a home. Over time, the word came to mean the point where things come together clearly and powerfully.
ACTION
Something small that you can do that might make a big difference
Choose Your Environment
Choose one thing (or person!) today and give it your full attention. Stay with it until you’ve finished or fully been present with it before moving onto something else.
PROCESSING
A question to think about and consider (you can discuss this with someone or write your thoughts down)
“How easily do I stay present and give my full focus to things?”
Very often we’re physically present but mentally somewhere else, splitting our attention between what’s happening now and what’s coming next.
This question will be added to the Community Space in the Leapers Club for you to share your thoughts.
SHOUT OUT
Who / what I think deserves recognition, my gratitude or to be celebrated.
Home Comforts
A shout out to the simple comforts of home: the routines, spaces, people and familiar things that help us slow down, reset and feel grounded again. In a world constantly pulling our attention elsewhere, there’s something powerful about the places and moments that help us simply be present.

Anyone feeling stretched, stuck, or slightly off, even if things look fine on the surface.
