Hello there! Welcome to my weekly LEAPS.
You’re receiving this email because you subscribed to my weekly Wednesday feature or our mailing list. Every Wednesday, I share 5 things using our LEAPS approach:
Learn: something new or an idea
Energy: an energy (good or bad) word and it’s meaning
Action: something to do
Processing: a question to consider
Shout out: something or someone that I want to celebrate or acknowledge

Something Worth Sharing
Where Ideas Begin
My recent work travel to the US, and especially Seattle, reminded me how powerful environments can be.
Seattle has a particular energy to it. It feels like a place where ideas are allowed to become things; from Starbucks to Amazon, and Microsoft to the Space Needle. So much of what began there has gone on to shape how we live, work, connect, travel, consume and imagine the future.
What stood out to me wasn’t just the success of those businesses or landmarks. It was the sense of belief underneath them:
that you can build something.
that an idea is worth testing.
the curiosity leads to improvement and impact.
that creativity and ambition are not separate from everyday work.
that innovation is not only about invention, but about creating the conditions where possibility feels normal.
Being in that kind of environment makes you think differently. It reminds you that achievement rarely happens in isolation. It is sparked by culture, conversation, courage, proximity, timing and the willingness to start before everything is certain.
Sometimes we don’t need more pressure to achieve. We need to put ourselves in environments that expand what we believe is possible and it calls for us to step up and be brave.
ENERGY
Focusing on an emotion or energy; a stand-out word / s
Believe
Believe comes from the Old English word belyfan, meaning to hold dear, to trust, or to have confidence in.
Belief is not blind optimism. It is the inner confidence that something is possible enough to begin.
ACTION
Something small that you can do that might make a big difference
Choose Your Environment
Put yourself in a deliberate environment this week that expands your thinking.
Go somewhere different, speak to someone inspiring, visit a new place, read about a business that began as an idea, or create space to imagine what could be possible.
PROCESSING
A question to think about and consider (you can discuss this with someone or write your thoughts down)
“What environment / s have helped me most to create / innovate / achieve?”
Reflecting on where you’ve felt most inspired or capable can reveal what conditions help you do your best thinking and work.
This question will be added to the Community Space in the Leapers Club for you to share your thoughts.
SHOUT OUT
Who / what I think deserves recognition, my gratitude or to be celebrated.
The Space Needle
A shout out to Seattle’s Space Needle, originally imagined for the 1962 World’s Fair, when what began as futuristic sketches and ambitious thinking became one of the most recognisable structures in the world.
At the time, it must have seemed bold, unrealistic, even crazy to some. Yet that willingness to imagine differently created a landmark now worth billions in tourism, economic impact and cultural identity, while continuing to inspire millions of people to think bigger about what might be possible.
