Sit In The Messy
Firstly, allow me to wish you a lovely Christmas Day (if you recognise it). This is the first LEAPS that has fallen on 25th December!
So, my learn to share with you is one inspired by my fabulous team members who recently shared their own LEAPS for 2024 with me. This is where ‘sitting in the messy’ came from.
When the sh*t hits the fan, I tend to be a ‘doer’ - I’m keen to keep pushing through, getting things done and often seek to avoid the reality of the moment through action. However, the team discussed the importance of resisting this every so often and the need to sit with the pain, frustration, hurt, challenge and unknown. It’s not easy to sit in the messiness, and yet it’s often the most valuable thing to do. Being able and willing to have patience and courage to just sit in what’s happening allows us to recalibrate, heal and find the lessons in the madness. After all, messiness won’t harm you - but constantly forcing your way through it might!
ENERGY
An emotion or energy; a stand-out word / s
Catalyst
I thought of this word as I contemplated 2024.
Catalyst is from the Latinized form of Greek katalysis meaning "dissolution, a dissolving". The chemical sense of "change caused by an agent which itself remains unchanged" is attested from 1836, introduced by Swedish chemist Jöns Jakob Berzelius (1779-1848).
ACTION
Something small that you can do that might make a big difference
Just Sit
Take 2 minutes and just sit - without looking at your mobile device or anything else.
PROCESSING
A question to think about and consider (you can discuss this with someone or write your thoughts down)
