See It To Live It | Generous | Joy At Work
Hello there! Welcome to my weekly LEAPS.
You’re receiving this email because you subscribed to my weekly Wednesday feature or our mailing list. Every Wednesday, I share 5 things using our LEAPS approach:
Learn: something new or an idea
Energy: an energy (good or bad) word and it’s meaning
Action: something to do
Processing: a question to consider
Shout out: something or someone that I want to celebrate or acknowledge

Something Worth Sharing
See It To Live It
On a recent work-trip to the States, my husband and I were chatting about 2025 and what outcomes we might be hoping for. This got both of us thinking about the current year and what we’d dreamt of 12 months ago, and how much of what we hoped for had since come to fruition.
I mentioned to him that I had come to realise - and learn - over recent years that the more you can see something in your mind, the easier it is to make it be true. Our favourite example of this was when we felt overwhelmed at the idea of a big house renovation project and decided that the first step was to get drawings pulled together and stuck to the wall - a wall that would need to be pulled down. Seeing these pictures each day quickly helped us to build on the momentum and make it all become a reality.
Personally I now try and practice the following 6 steps at the end of each year or as a big project is planned:
Form
Get the initial ideas formed in your own mind - admit to what you really want.Clarity
Strengthen the clarity - draw, write, research and add details.Embed
Put a visual - or prompts - somewhere you can regularly see it.Share
Talk about it with those you trust.Small step
Take a small step - just begin.Build
Once started, keep going - build the momentum.
The more you do this, the easier it gets. If you can’t see something, how can you bring it to life?
ENERGY
An emotion or energy; a stand-out word / s
Generous
Our daughter turned 18 last week and the word she kept using was ‘generous’. We saw such kindness and generosity towards her from friends, family and loved ones.
The word is from Latin generis meaning "race, stock" (from PIE root GENE, to give birth, beget). I’d like to think that this suggests that we are all born with generosity and it’s a natural state.
ACTION
Something small that you can do that might make a big difference
Do Your 2024 LEAPS
Take a moment to apply LEAPS to your past 12 months:
L: LEARN
What has the year taught you?
E: ENERGY / EMOTION
What three words best describe your energy / emotions over the past year?
A: ACTION
What did you do and get done?
P: PROCESSING
What questions are you now processing as the year draws to a close and you think ahead?
S: SHOUTOUT
Who / what do you need to recognise, be grateful for and shout out?
PROCESSING
A question to think about and consider (you can discuss this with someone or write your thoughts down)
“What do you need to let go of?”
I guess this question could also extend to ‘who’ as well as ‘what’, but what do you need to let go of? This can be physical and emotional.
I’d love for you to send me your own stories / thoughts about this. Drop me a line with your answer / thoughts on this question
SHOUT OUT
Who / what I think deserves recognition - my gratitude or to be celebrated.
Tidying
While we hosted Emmy’s 18th birthday party, my office suddenly became a dumping group. The first thing I did on Monday morning was take back control by having a really thorough tidy. You can’t beat taking a moment to get your house in order when things feel a little too much. My big shout out this week is when you do this and just tidy a cupboard, your desk, your wardrobe or car - and how much better it makes you feel.
