We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – no one said it would be easy. But the great news is that effort is the thing that creates rewards and progress. Our research showed us that where people typically fall down is in DELIBERATE and EFFORT. This is where the work is needed – to show up constantly and consistently on your own behalf – which often requires boundaries to be set and protected.
Motivation can be challenging, and we always recommend that you understand this ahead of time and create the best environment for success. Many people will want to revert to old behaviours – the default settings. This is going from treading water back to drowning – but some will start to swim forwards! If you’ve got to here – keep going my friend!
Get an accountability buddy that you trust and who is also wanting to improve how they see, feel and act about themselves
Remove judgement – we all have bad days, but don’t let a bad day throw you off course
Find your purpose and stay focused on it - the reason this matters to you (GLAS Discovery can help with this)
Prepare a simple explanation to use when you want to decline something or tricky situations
Consider a coach or more structured support
