Something Worth SharingBeauty of The Best Bite-Size One of our team members reminded me of the importance of making things ‘bite-sized’ recently. We were talking about how the world is complex and challenging, how there is constant shifting and overloading of information. At the time, she was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated with herself - had lots of things she was trying to juggle and achieve. With the best will in the world, we simply can’t do everything all at once - no matter how hard we work! So, what can we do if we can’t do it all right now? Break it down into smaller bite-sized chunks. We don’t eat a 12inch pizza in one go, we have it cut into about 8 slices and even then, most of us (!), will take a number of bites. This reminded me of what I do on a pretty regular basis with my #visualsynopsis work. As I read a book - and now also study a business, idea or product - I am creating bite-sized chunks of information. But of course we can over-simplify if we’re not careful - we can lose the essence and create a diminishing return, and remain unsatisfied. Finding the right size of bite is key, but when we do, it allows: things to be more easily tackled solutions to be revealed improved motivation breakthroughs and progress greater chance of completion opportunity to review and be flexible between bites
As Albert Einstein once said during a lecture: Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
